Last summer I was approached with the exciting opportunity to design collateral pieces for a wedding. For those of you readers that may not know what collateral is, it is a collection of media used as part of a branding or marketing strategy. In my case it was place cards, an itinerary of events for the out-of-town guests, and guest books for each table at the wedding.
With it being my first time designing for a wedding, I was up for the challenge and excited for the opportunity. I have always had a strong interest in branding, and when you really sit down and think about it, designing for a wedding is like taking two separate “identities” and creating a unifying brand that displays the couple on the single biggest day of their lives up to that point in time. The ultimate goal is to create a look and vibe that best represents the couples’ style, personality, and union.
First, a brief introduction, my name is Cristine Kasha and I am the official creator of the DesignFlow Blog, as well as a Graphic Designer living in Los Angeles.
As you can tell by the title of this blog, the primary theme will be Design. I plan to share my experiences, whether it be design that inspires me in my daily explorations, knowledge, facts, and ideas related to design, or my experiments with design and the trials and errors that may come along with it.
This being my first blog ever, I am extremely excited to share my journey with design and show how it strongly influences my daily life. Through sharing my experiences, I hope to show how much of an impact it makes on the world around us. This blog is not only a process for me but hopefully an inspiration for you.
Ready, Set, Go!
P.S. Sit tight, because the next blog post is right around the corner!
