A Guest of Gary’s
Seeking a day of adventure and inspiration, I went where "The Door is Always Open", Gary Baseman’s solo exhibition at the Skirball Cultural Center.
I was intrigued by Gary Baseman’s exhibit even though I knew little about him and the story behind his unique illustrative style and whimsical characters. I attended due to my desire to learn more about his work and what factors in his life contributed to making him the successful artist he is today.

Branding A Union
Last summer I was approached with the exciting opportunity to design collateral pieces for a wedding. For those of you readers that may not know what collateral is, it is a collection of media used as part of a branding or marketing strategy. In my case it was place cards, an itinerary of events for the out-of-town guests, and guest books for each table at the wedding.
With it being my first time designing for a wedding, I was up for the challenge and excited for the opportunity. I have always had a strong interest in branding, and when you really sit down and think about it, designing for a wedding is like taking two separate “identities” and creating a unifying brand that displays the couple on the single biggest day of their lives up to that point in time. The ultimate goal is to create a look and vibe that best represents the couples’ style, personality, and union.
